To enable compatibility, a firmware update. Though with the Sony controllers (and even Nintendo controllers) sometimes you can find for no good reason a game just won't work or work properly with them. I switch between Xbox One, PS4, 360, PS3, PS2 even. If it's any use to you, you can get on with a lot of controllers on Steam these days. I'm not familiar with the Steelseries on you specify, but if it's a reasonably modern controller, then again you shouldn't have any issues. If you have one you shoudn't have any worries.


Ideally, for Windows 10, an Xbox One controller (or the newer ones) are a kind of default. If it's a PC compatible controller like that you should be fine and good to go for most of the games (you can check under the game's info in your library or on the store page as to how much or what controller support it has).
